Art, Design, and HCI

This lecture synthesizes the various perspectives and methods that have been presented throughout course, including design, art, and HCI. It stresses the role of designing for solving a pragmatic societal or user issue (HCI) with the need to be innovative and solution driven (Design) with an emphasis on creativity and critical reflection (Art).

Students will be presented with a number of designs and asked to critique the designs based on the three perspectives of art, design, and HCI.
