Sena Choi (PhD)

I am a PhD student in the Connections Lab, and I am interested in fostering responsible and inclusive collaborative interaction. My super power is deep empathy—an ability to uncover unrecognised human needs and translate them into meaningful connections between humans and technology.

I completed my MSc in Human-Computer Interaction at the University of Nottingham. There, my research revealed that accessibility is not bound to a single interface or a solitary task, but is rather a collaborative achievement—an insight I uncovered by using Conversation Analysis to examine multiparty interactions (link to paper).

Through more than 4 years in industry as a co-founder and business planning analyst, I developed a holistic perspective on how technology weaves into daily lives, bridging the gap between infrastructure and end-users. By designing shared experiences rather than isolating minority groups, I learned that true inclusivity means creating environments where everyone can connect and interact together.
